welcome to cookin' gone wild bonus episode.we'll be showing you another recipe for your bluegill: bluegill chowder. for this recipe you'll need half and half, water, lemon juice, onions, celery, garlic salt, salt and pepper, bluegill, carrots, red potatos, a bay leaf, dill, parsley and some bacon. we've got our pan on medium-high heat. we'regoing to cook our bacon and then once this is cooked we're going to add our veggies. now that our bacon is cooked, we're goingto take our bacon out and put the vegetables into the bacon grease. now i'm going to throwin the carrots, nice sizzle. onions. celery,

stir that around, and i'm going to throw inthe potatoes as well. so our vegetables are almost done, i'm going to let them cook fora few more minutes. in the mean time we're going to start getting everything in our stockpot.right now i have four cups of water, add in a cup of half and half, about a tablespoonof lemon juice. we've got fresh parsley and dill that we chopped, garlic, salt and pepper.stir that around and let that come to a boil and then we are going to add in all of ourvegetables. our half and half and water has come to a boil so we are going to go aheadand throw in our vegetables, a lot of vegetables. our last step is to throw in our bluegilland as you can see these are smaller chunks than just regular fillets so cut it up a littlebit. once you get it all in here you'll need

to cook it for about 5 minutes or so. that'sit, just enough to get the bluegill nice and cooked. i'm going to throw in this cookedbacon as well. once your bluegill is cooked all the way through, you'll take out the bayleaf and it's ready to serve. here is our finished bluegill chowder and it smells wonderful.we put a little bit of crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese on top. i'm really excitedto try this. it's a really nice and creamy chowder, really nice for one of those colddays when you are out ice fishing and you come back in and you just want something niceand hearty. for the full recipe you can go to our website, for more episodes you cansubscribe to our youtube channel or like us on facebook. can't wait to see you next timeon cookin' gone wild field to table.
