home design powerhouses nate berkus, lg electronics, hearst magazines, and the american society of interior designers got together in new york city to celebrate outstanding kitchen designs. lg partnered with hearst media and asid to ask people to design their dream forever kitchen using the studio appliances as the basis for inspiration. i love more than anything being able to nurture young designers, people who are creating something new. there’s a cash prize and they win the whole suite of appliances, which is kind of exciting. the winner of the design to inspire contest is petya. in his role as artistic advisor to lg studio, berkus advised on the design of the new studio suite, ensuring the products embody a pro-style, sophisticated design aim to complement any high-end kitchen design. lg is a company obviously that stands for technology but they care very deeply about design so our partnership has been an adventure and here’s the end result. any style of kitchen can work well with this lg studio line of appliances being the cornerstone of the design. a colonial kitchen, a modern kitchen, something with color, something that’s very neutral. they see kitchens the way that we do a living space not just a cooking space, not just a workspace but a space that people really live in. nate says the kitchen is heart of the home so it’s important to really love it and make it your own. you know it’s funny, design is not a perfect science obviously design is about people making their own decisions, utilizing their choices and sort of creating environment tbat really tell the stories of who they are. for more info and design inspirations visit www.lgstudio.com.
